Nexus IT Services is looking for a driven, self-motivated Business Development Consultant to help us grow our client base across Hobbs and the broader Permian Basin. This is an independent contractor role with significant earning potential for the right person. You will be the face of Nexus IT Services in the field, building relationships with local businesses and helping them understand how managed IT, cybersecurity, and technology consulting can protect and grow their operations. There is no ceiling on what you can earn.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and develop new commercial client relationships across Hobbs and the Permian Basin
- Represent Nexus IT Services at local networking events, business associations, and community functions
- Conduct in-person and remote discovery meetings with potential clients to understand their technology needs
- Present and propose services in coordination with the technical team
- Maintain a consistent pipeline and provide regular activity updates
- Follow up with leads and nurture long-term prospect relationships
Requirements
- Proven track record in outside sales, business development, or account management
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-directed with the ability to manage your own schedule and pipeline
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the Permian Basin
- Comfortable operating on a commission-only basis as an independent contractor
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing network of business contacts in the Hobbs or Lea County area
- Familiarity with technology services, managed IT, or B2B sales
- Experience using a CRM or sales tracking tool
