IT Infrastructure Assessment

Know What You Have and Need

Most business owners have a rough idea of their IT environment. They know what their major systems are and who their vendors are. What they often do not know is the condition of the hardware, whether software is properly licensed and up to date, where the security gaps are, or whether their backups are actually working. An IT infrastructure assessment answers all of those questions.

What We Assess

Hardware Inventory and Condition We catalog all computers, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals. We document age, warranty status, and health indicators so you know what is approaching end of life and what represents a near-term replacement cost.
Software and Licensing We inventory installed software and verify licensing compliance. Unlicensed software creates legal exposure. Unused licenses represent money being wasted. Outdated software creates security vulnerabilities. We identify all three.
Network Infrastructure We review your network equipment, configuration, segmentation, and performance. We identify aging switches, misconfigured firewalls, open ports that should be closed, and wireless coverage issues that affect productivity.
Security Posture We evaluate your security controls across endpoints, accounts, email, and network perimeter. Patch levels, antivirus status, multi-factor authentication, password policies, and remote access security are all reviewed.
Backup and Recovery We verify that backups are running, that they include everything critical, that offsite copies exist, and that recovery has been tested. Backup assessments routinely surface gaps that businesses did not know they had.
Vendor and Support Contracts We review your technology vendor relationships, support contracts, and renewal timelines. Overlapping services, expired warranties, and contracts that no longer fit your needs are common findings that have a direct impact on your budget.

What You Get

You receive a written assessment report that covers every area we reviewed. The report is organized for readability, not to impress you with technical depth. It includes a summary of findings, a risk rating for each issue, and a prioritized recommendation list so you know where to focus first. The report is yours to use however you need, whether that is making internal decisions, briefing ownership, or getting quotes from vendors.

  • Complete hardware and software inventory
  • Findings organized by category with clear explanations
  • Risk ratings for each identified issue
  • Prioritized recommendations with estimated effort and cost ranges
  • A summary executive section for non-technical stakeholders

How It Works

Step 1: Scoping

We start with a brief conversation to understand the scope of your environment and any specific concerns you want us to focus on. This helps us plan the assessment and make sure we are not spending time on areas that are not relevant to your situation.

Step 2: On-Site Assessment

We visit your location and go through your environment systematically. We connect to your network, access systems with your permission, review documentation if it exists, and interview key staff members. We do not rely on self-reported information alone because the most important findings are often the ones nobody knew about.

Step 3: Analysis and Reporting

We analyze what we gathered and produce the written report. We categorize findings, assign risk levels, and write recommendations that explain what to do and why. The report is reviewed internally before delivery to make sure it accurately reflects what we found and that the recommendations are sound.

Step 4: Findings Review

We walk you through the report in person or by video call. We explain each finding, answer your questions, and help you understand what is urgent versus what can be addressed on a longer timeline. If you want us to help implement the recommendations, we can scope that work as a next step.
