A malware infection does not always announce itself. Sometimes it is obvious: your machine is crawling, pop-ups are everywhere, or your files are suddenly encrypted. Other times it is quietly running in the background, stealing credentials, logging keystrokes, or using your computer as part of a botnet. Either way, the wrong response makes it worse. We isolate the infection, remove it completely, verify the system is clean, and take steps to make sure it does not happen again.
Malware does not always make itself obvious. If you notice any of the following, bring your machine in for a diagnostic before the situation gets worse.
Drop your computer off at our shop in Hobbs. If you suspect an active infection, avoid logging into any sensitive accounts from the affected machine until we have had a chance to look at it. That includes banking, email, and anything else that matters. The sooner you bring it in, the better.
We disconnect the machine from any network and run a thorough assessment to identify what is present, how it got in, and what it may have accessed. We will contact you with a full picture of what we found before any work begins.
We remove all identified malware, clean up any damage done to system files, and restore normal operation. In cases where the infection is too deep to clean safely, we can back up your data and perform a clean OS reinstall to guarantee the system is fully clear.
Before your machine leaves our hands, we run a final round of scans to confirm it is clean. We also review how the infection got in and make recommendations to close those gaps so it does not happen again. That may include updating software, changing passwords, or putting proper security tools in place.
