You have emergency IT costs and possibly hardware replacement expenses. And if any client data was exposed, there may be legal consequences to deal with on top of everything else.
For most small businesses, a disaster recovery plan does not need to be a lengthy formal document. It comes down to knowing exactly what data you have and where it lives, having tested, verified backups, knowing where to get replacement hardware quickly, and having documented steps so anyone on your team could run the recovery process.
Test it at least once a year so you know it works before you need it.
